About Becoming Costeña

Hi, I'm Brynn!

I am a volunteer currently serving in the Peace Corps as an English Teacher Trainer in the coastal Caribbean region of Colombia. Typically, the people who live in this region of Colombia are referred to as Costeños (literally translated as coastals or coastal people), so Becoming Costeña is about documenting my personal experience of integrating into coastal Caribbean-Colombian society as an American and Peace Corps volunteer.

 I am also a recent graduate of the College of Charleston, an avid urban backpacker, and a lover of music, poetry, books, and writing. Additionally, I eat a plant-based diet and strive to live a minimal waste lifestyle, so I will be documenting my triumphs and challenges as they pertain to this as well.
